Even if it *were* a "self-inflicted" disease (e.g. substance abuse related health issues), it's *still* not okay to treat people like that. Everyone deserves humanity and compassion, regardless of how they came into their suffering - nobody chooses to be sick. But I definitely get how it must be so frustrating that people throw around baseless accusations and insults without understanding the context or the disease you're dealing with at all. I can't even imagine the courage it must have taken to put yourself out there and ask for help when people can be this cruel and inconsiderate.
