There's just something about doctors (or about most doctors I've met) and a strong aversion towards a patient with any sort of opinion whatsoever regarding their own body or brain - no matter how humbly I might express said opinion, they would shut me down, with visible annoyance. After a long streak of misdiagnoses, I just outright asked to undergo standardised psychiatric testing. Which is how I finally came into my ADHD diagnosis and started receiving real help for the first time in my life. Decades of struggle started making sense. The tests covered multiple possible avenues and took almost 3 hours to get through, but it was worth it. I'm not sure if that's an option for your own situation, but I thought I'd share my experience in case it helps to look into it - I know how frustrating and draining the entire quest can feel. I hope you find your answers and the help you deserve.
