This feels so alien and surreal to someone who’s spent the entirety of their nearly 30 years of life in a country with sky-high gun-control. I’ve never seen a real gun in my life, majority of adults here have not; getting one requires psychological testing, lengthy application processes, and all the jazz (so yes you can own one if you really want to and can prove that you’re psychologically sound).
Nobody dies of gun violence here, because there are no guns for people to kill people with. I’m not in any way saying every country should up and not allow any civilian to own a gun, but some form of psychological testing before sending Random Joe home with an automated machine gun couldn’t hurt. It’s fascinating how women’s uteri can be under more lengthy and complicated control processes than automated machine guns, and there isn’t anything anyone can reasonably say to convince me that this fact isn’t irony at its finest.
